On Monday 9th of February , EUREGHA has officially launched the 2026 work programme of its Working Group on Digital Transformation of Healthcare with a well-attended constitutive meeting, bringing together long-standing members and new participants. The meeting provided a valuable opportunity to exchange priorities, expectations and ideas, and to jointly set the direction for the year ahead.
Key focus areas for 2026
Discussions highlighted a strong convergence around several strategic priorities that will guide the Working Group’s activities in 2026. In particular, members identified:
Artificial intelligence, health data and the European Health Data Space (EHDS) as core thematic areas, alongside a continued focus on digital skills for the health and care workforce
The importance of ensuring continuity with past activities, while at the same time identifying new opportunities for deeper collaboration in the field of digital health
The need to further strengthen matchmaking on EU funding opportunities, building on members’ inputs to EUREGHA’s recent call-mapping exercise, with particular attention to programmes such as Horizon Europe, Innovative Health Initiative (IHI), Digital Europe and Erasmus+
The meeting also underlined the added value of reinforcing synergies with ongoing EU-funded projects, including BeWell, EUVECA, IDERHA, InnoMedCatalyst and the TEHDAS2 Joint Action, among others, in order to maximise knowledge exchange and avoid duplication of efforts.
Next steps
Looking ahead, the Working Group will focus on:
Continuing matchmaking and tailored support to members in their search for partners and participation in EU calls
Organising a spring Working Group meeting, with the date to be confirmed shortly
Collecting ongoing input from members to further shape Working Group activities and ensure they respond to regional needs and priorities
The strong engagement during this kick-off meeting marked a promising start to an important year for regional collaboration on digital transformation in healthcare.
