About Boost

BOOST is a Horizon 2020 project aimed at improving mental health, well-being, and learning outcomes for children and adolescents by developing and implementing a holistic, school-based approach. The project focuses on integrating mental health promotion into everyday school life, engaging educators, families, and communities to create supportive learning environments.

BOOST combines evidence-based interventions with an innovative electronic platform that supports teachers, school leaders, and policy-makers in adopting and sustaining mental health promotion practices. The approach is tailored to the cultural and policy contexts of participating countries and will be evaluated for effectiveness and scalability.

Goals and Activities

  • Develop a comprehensive, school-based approach for mental health promotion.

  • Create and test an electronic platform as a practical resource for schools.

  • Enhance the capacity of teachers and school leaders to support students’ mental health.

  • Engage families and communities in promoting student well-being.

  • Ensure the political, pedagogical, and technical relevance of the BOOST approach.

  • Provide policy recommendations for national and European uptake.

Work Packages and Key Activities

BOOST is organised into multiple work packages, including:

  • WP7: Dissemination and communication activities – Led by EUREGHA, this WP ensures targeted communication of the project’s approach, progress, and results to stakeholders in education, health, and research sectors through a defined strategy, stakeholder mapping, and a mix of online, offline, and event-based outreach.

  • WP9: Project management and scientific coordination – Oversees governance, coordination, and quality control of the project.

  • Other WPs address development of the BOOST approach, piloting in schools, evaluation, and uptake.

Our Contribution

EUREGHA is responsible for leading WP7 – Dissemination and communication activities – which includes:

  • Designing and implementing the dissemination strategy.

  • Mapping stakeholders at European, national, regional, and local levels in education, health, and research.

  • Coordinating with all partners to ensure consistent and effective dissemination.

  • Organising awareness-raising events and the final conference.

  • Facilitating knowledge exchange between the project consortium and regional/local health authorities.

Through its network, EUREGHA helps BOOST’s innovations to reach policy-makers and practitioners, supporting the integration of mental health promotion into school systems.
