On 26 February 2025, EUREGHA held the first Working Group on Cancer meeting of the year, bringing together regional and local health authorities to discuss key challenges and priorities in cancer prevention, treatment, and care across Europe.

The session focused on strengthening collaboration, sharing best practices, and advancing EU-wide cancer initiatives. Participants provided insights on their regional cancer strategies, including screening programs, survivorship care, and the role of digital innovation in oncology. Key discussions included:
The development of Comprehensive Cancer Care Networks and EU-accredited cancer centers , the role of AI and health data in enhancing cancer screening and early detection, methods to strengthening survivorship and palliative care models to improve patient quality of life. Finalising with the Showcase of members´ projects on EU cancer initiatives such as JANE 1 and the recently launched JANE 2, EUCanScreen, and ECHoS, ensuring regional engagement in EU-wide cancer policy and research.
