New EUREGHA interim Chair and welcoming new Executive Board Members

As of 26 January 2024, EUREGHA welcomes Andrea Pavlickova, current Treasurer and elected member of the Executive Board, as a new interim Chair until the next elections, taking place in May 2024 on the occasion of the upcoming EUREGHA Annual General Assembly.

Following the decision of the Board, Ms. Pavlickova temporarily takes the position of Giovanni Gorgoni, Chair of EUREGHA since 2021 and re-elected Chair in June 2023, who leaves his role following the end of his mandate as CEO of AReSS Puglia.

The network wholeheartedly thanks Mr. Gorgoni for his longstanding work and representation as former Chair, which he has carried forward from day one with passion, enthusiasm, dedication and foresight.

“It has been a great honour to be the Chair of EUREGHA and, above all, to be part of a network of such passionate people. I wish EUREGHA and its members to keep operating and leading in building the pillars of a so-desired European Health Union. I guess that passionate people always find a way to cross their paths and I’m so sure that it will happen in the next future. Buon vento! (good wind!)”

“I am extremely happy and honoured to temporarily take over Giovanni’s role until the 2024 General Assembly, and give continuity to our vision and mission, which sees EUREGHA and its regions as key actors strengthening regional collaborations and improving health policies in Europe. Our huge thanks to Giovanni from the network for his outstanding commitment over the past years.”

Moreover, the appointment of the new interim Chair is also accompanied by the assignments of Karl Landergren (Medical Director, Region Östergötland) as Vice-Chair and Executive Board member for Region Östergötland in place of Petra Dannapfel (who left her position at Region Östergötland in late 2023), and Francesco Fera (Managing Director, AReSS Puglia), taking over the role of Executive Board member for AReSS Puglia.

EUREGHA wishes all the best to the new ad-interim Chair, Vice-Chair and Executive Board members, and the best of luck to Mr. Gorgoni for his future professional path.
