As the Secretariat of the European Committee of the Regions’ Interregional Group on Health and Well-being, EUREGHA invites you to save the date for the Group’s Winter Meeting.
Beyond the health sector: Building mental well-being through education, culture, and community action
Wednesday, 2 December 2026, 9:00–10:00 CET
European Committee of the Regions, Brussels – JDE70
Mental well-being is shaped by everyday experiences at school, in our neighbourhoods and in the places where people come together. The meeting will explore how regional and local authorities can bring schools, cultural organisations, community groups and health services together to promote mental health, strengthen social connections and support inclusion.
Chaired by Birgitta Sacrédeus, Member of the European Committee of the Regions and Chair of the Interregional Group on Health and Well-being, the meeting will build on the Advancing Equitable Mental Health Across Europe policy debate at the 2026 European Week of Regions and Cities.
The draft programme includes an example from the Banská Bystrica Region on how professionals from different sectors can work together to prevent bullying and support young people’s mental health. Kornelia Kiss, Head of Culture and Health at Culture Action Europe, will discuss how participation in arts and cultural activities can support mental health and well-being with the experience of the Culture and Health Platform.
An open debate and Q&A will give participants an opportunity to share experiences and discuss what could work in their own regions.
We look forward to welcoming you to the European Committee of the Regions.
