The 4th ONCODIR Plenary Meeting took place from 25–27 June 2025 in Valencia, Spain, bringing together project partners, experts, and stakeholders to strengthen the implementation of ONCODIR’s innovative tools for the primary prevention of colorectal cancer (CRC). The event was hosted by INCLIVA Instituto de Investigación Sanitaria.
A Full Project Gathering for Strategic Progress
Over three days, ONCODIR partners aligned on project milestones, shared recent achievements, and planned concrete next steps—especially following the latest review meeting. Discussions focused on:
• Improving and interconnecting ONCODIR’s AI-powered digital tools:
◦ NELI (for citizens)
◦ DEPO (for clinicians)
◦ DELI (for policymakers)
• Preparing for upcoming pilots in Romania, Greece, and Lithuania
• Exploring integration pathways into existing policy frameworks and healthcare systems
• Enhancing dissemination and exploitation, including branding, scientific publications, and partnership building
• Highlighting Lab Integration Tests (LIT 03) to ensure pilot execution readiness and policy relevance
Emphasising Interdisciplinary and Multi-Level Approaches
The second day featured targeted sessions on clinician upskilling, validation of tools, and the integration of personalised dietary guidance into clinical workflows. A dedicated Policy Makers Open Day enabled decision-makers to engage directly with ONCODIR tools, fostering cross-sector cooperation and policy translation of data-driven outcomes.
As Task Leader for synergies with other EU initiatives, EUREGHA used the meeting to discuss the project engagement within the Prevention and Early Detection Cluster – Implementation Research, ensuring ONCODIR contributes meaningfully to the broader European efforts in cancer prevention
Living Labs and User-Centred Innovation
On the final day, a hands-on Living Lab session on Work Package 5 (WP5) allowed partners to explore the practical integration of ONCODIR solutions through the lens of multi-level governance. End-user engagement remained central, with insights from clinicians, researchers, policymakers, and patients contributing to a co-creation approach grounded in responsible innovation.
Looking Ahead
With pilots on the horizon and tools moving closer to deployment, the ONCODIR partnership remains focused on delivering data-informed solutions that support healthier communities across Europe.
