Discover the EUREGHA Mental Health Practices Collection

We are proud to launch the EUREGHA Mental Health Collection of Practices, a booklet bringing together 22 mental health practices submitted by EUREGHA members and showcasing how regional and local health authorities across Europe are translating shared mental health priorities into concrete action.

The collection highlights the diversity of approaches developed across Europe, from regional policy frameworks and community-based initiatives to integrated care pathways, digital solutions, youth-focused programmes and cross-border projects. It offers insights into how regional and local actors are promoting mental wellbeing, strengthening prevention and early intervention, and developing more integrated, person-centred approaches to mental health care. The full booklet is available for download below, offering an overview of the collected practices, key trends, common implementation challenges and lessons learned.

What You’ll Find in the Collection

The EUREGHA Mental Health Collection of Practices is more than a compilation of initiatives—it is a resource for knowledge exchange and collaboration. Whether you are looking to:

  • Discover innovative approaches to mental health promotion, prevention and care across Europe;
  • Explore how regional and local authorities are addressing youth mental health, community-based care, workforce wellbeing and social inclusion;
  • Learn from different implementation experiences, challenges and enabling factors;
  • Identify potential opportunities for cooperation, knowledge sharing and the adaptation of practices across regions;

This collection provides practical insights and inspiration for action.

The 22 practices are organised into five thematic areas:

  • Population and settings-based prevention;
  • Youth access, transitions and inclusion;
  • Integrated community care and recovery;
  • Targeted support and workforce capacity;
  • Cross-border healthcare cooperation.

Together, they illustrate how mental health can be addressed across different stages of life and settings, through collaboration between healthcare providers, public authorities, social services, educational institutions and community organisations.

A Resource for Collaboration

The collection reflects the important role of regional and local health authorities in translating mental health priorities into practical solutions tailored to their communities. By bringing together experiences from different territorial contexts, it aims to foster mutual learning, inspire new approaches and support stronger cooperation across Europe.

The booklet also highlights common challenges, including coordination across sectors, workforce capacity, sustainable resources, equitable access and evaluation, while identifying enabling factors such as strong partnerships, stakeholder participation and clear governance. The EUREGHA Mental Health Collection of Practices is conceived as a living resource, which will continue to evolve as new regional and local experiences emerge. EUREGHA members interested in contributing additional practices to future editions are invited to contact the EUREGHA Secretariat.
