#EURegionsWeek 2026 Policy Debate

Date & Time:

October 12 @ 9:30 am - 11:00 am

EUREGHA is pleased to invite you to its session organised in the framework of the European Week of Regions and Cities 2026:

#EURegionsWeek Policy Debate
“Advancing Equitable Mental Health Across Europe: Regional Action for Stronger, More Resilient Systems”

12 October 2026, 09:30–11:00 CET
Room JDE52, European Committee of the Regions, Brussels

The session, organised in partnership with the European Committee of the Regions’ NAT Commission, the Interregional Group on Health and Well-being of the Committee of the Regions, and the World Health Organization – Regional Office for Europe, will examine how regions can drive the transformation towards more equitable, people-centred and community-based mental health systems.

Building on the theme of strong regions for a strong Europe, the debate will focus on the gap between policy commitment and implementation, showcasing regional strategies and practices to address mental health disparities across the life course, with particular attention to women and gender-related inequalities.

Regions and local authorities play a central role in translating European ambitions into concrete action on the ground. Through keynote inputs, panel exchanges and audience interaction, the session will explore how EU frameworks, regional leadership, WHO partnerships, coordinated governance and sustainable investment can support stronger, more resilient mental health systems across Europe.

Stay tunned for the registrations opening and check the EWRC2026 program! More information about the final agenda and speakers’ bios will be available on the official #EURegionsWeek webpage soon.
