#EURegionsWeek 2025 Policy Debate – “Where it Matters: Investing in Regions to Shape the Future of Health in Europe”

Date & Time:

October 15 @ 9:30 am - 11:00 am

EUREGHA is pleased to invite you to its session organised in the framework of the European Week of Regions and Cities 2025:

#EURegionsWeek Policy Debate
“Where it Matters: Investing in Regions to Shape the Future of Health in Europe”

📅 15 October 2025, 09:30–11:00 CET
📍 Room JDE52, European Committee of the Regions, Brussels

The session, organised in collaboration with the Interregional Group on Health and Well-being of the Committee of the Regions, will explore how a strong cohesion policy—better aligned with EU health funding —can help regional and local authorities improve health systems, reduce inequalities, and foster innovation across Europe.

With core competences in care delivery, regions are natural laboratories for health innovation and essential to translating EU ambitions into meaningful change on the ground. EU and regional leaders will discuss how to shape a future-proof ‘cohesion deal for health’, resilient, inclusive, and grounded in mutual learning and place-based policies.

The event will feature an engaging debate with the following speakers:

  • MEP Elena Nevado del Campo, Member of the European Parliament (EPP Group – Spain)
  • Piotr Całbecki, Chair of the European CoR NAT Commission and President of the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Region
  • Katarzyna Kielar, Policy Officer, European Commission – DG SANTE
  • Additional speakers will be announced soon!

Interpretation: Working language EN, with interpretation requested in ES and PL.
