BeWell Final Event – From Skills to implementation: Building Europe’s Future Health Workforce

Date & Time:

May 7 @ 9:30 am - 4:00 pm

On 7 May 2026, EUREGHA will participate in the final conference of the BeWell project, taking place in Brussels and online. The event will mark the conclusion of our three-year collaboration  supporting the green and digital transformation of Europe’s health workforce.

The conference will bring together EU institutions, regional and local health authorities, healthcare professionals, education providers, and key stakeholders to reflect on the project’s main achievements and discuss the way forward.

The programme will open with high-level reflections on the evolving needs of the European health workforce, setting the scene for discussions on skills gaps, workforce shortages, and health system resilience.

A first thematic session will focus on skills intelligence and evidence for action, presenting key findings from the project and showcasing how competence frameworks have been translated into concrete training programmes. Lessons learned from pilot experiences across Europe will provide practical insights into upskilling and reskilling.

The conference will also feature the presentation of the BeWell Skills Strategy, a central output of the project, followed by a multi-stakeholder discussion on its relevance for addressing current and future workforce needs.

In the afternoon, attention will shift towards implementation, including testimonials from training participants and a dedicated session on how to operationalise the Skills Strategy across different health system contexts. EUREGHA will contribute by highlighting the role of regional and local health authorities in adapting and embedding skills policies at territorial level.

The conference will conclude with reflections on sustainability, future cooperation, and opportunities to strengthen collaboration across the health ecosystem.

On 6 May 2026, a dedicated meeting of the Large-Scale Partnership (LSP) for the Health Ecosystem will take place, exclusively for LSP members, providing a space for exchange on the future sustainability and implementation of the partnership. Stakeholders interested in engaging with the LSP are invited to contact marco.didonato@euregha.net
