On 8–9 September, EUREGHA joined PREDI-LYNCH partners in Bratislava for two days of exchange, reflection and planning on the next steps of the project, with a focus on advancing innovative approaches to cancer surveillance and early detection for people living with Lynch syndrome.
The meeting brought together project partners to take stock of progress achieved so far, coordinate upcoming activities and discuss how PREDI-LYNCH’s research can ultimately contribute to better prevention and earlier cancer detection.
Bringing research, patient perspectives and policy into the discussion
The gathering opened with PREDI-ROUND I, a dedicated session bringing together clinical research, patient perspectives and European health policy.
The discussion explored how innovative approaches to cancer surveillance can be developed in ways that are not only scientifically robust, but also safe, acceptable to patients and relevant for health systems and future implementation.
This exchange reflected one of the broader challenges addressed by PREDI-LYNCH: ensuring that advances in early detection can move beyond research settings and contribute to prevention strategies and care pathways that respond to the needs of people living with Lynch syndrome.
Taking stock and preparing the next stages
Just over one year into the project, the consortium meeting provided an opportunity to review progress across the different areas of work and coordinate the activities ahead.
A key focus was the next stages of PREDI-LYNCH’s clinical trials, which are central to the project’s efforts to improve early cancer detection and personalised prevention for people with Lynch syndrome.
Beyond the clinical work, partners also discussed the connections between research, implementation and the longer-term uptake of project results, including how evidence generated through PREDI-LYNCH can reach policymakers, health professionals and other relevant stakeholders.
Strengthening dissemination and policy uptake
EUREGHA contributes to PREDI-LYNCH through activities related to dissemination, sustainability, stakeholder engagement and policy uptake, helping connect the project with regional and European health-policy discussions.
During the meeting, EUREGHA shared recent work carried out within the EARLYSCAN Cancer Mission Cluster, where PREDI-LYNCH collaborates with other European initiatives working on cancer screening, prevention and early detection.
The meeting also provided an opportunity to explore further synergies with project partners and identify ways to strengthen engagement with policymakers and regional health stakeholders.
For EUREGHA, this work is particularly important to help ensure that emerging evidence relates to the realities of health-system implementation and that regional and local perspectives can contribute to discussions on the future uptake and transferability of project results.
Looking ahead
The Bratislava meeting provided an important moment for the consortium to align on the next phase of PREDI-LYNCH and strengthen collaboration across the project.
EUREGHA will continue working with partners to support the dissemination of project results, connect PREDI-LYNCH with relevant European and regional stakeholders, and contribute to pathways that can help translate research findings into policy and practice.
