EUREGHA is pleased to invite you to visit its exhibition stand organised in the framework of the European Week of Regions and Cities 2026:

EUREGHA – Bringing Regional and Local Health Authorities Together: A Hub for Interregional Health Cooperation in Europe

Throughout the day, the EUREGHA stand will serve as a meeting point for regional and local health authorities, European institutions, health stakeholders and project partners interested in strengthening interregional cooperation on health across Europe.

As the reference network for regional and local health authorities in Europe, EUREGHA promotes the exchange of knowledge, experience and good practices in health policy and implementation. The stand will provide an opportunity to learn more about the network’s activities, meet representatives of the EUREGHA Secretariat and discuss opportunities for cooperation with regions and health stakeholders from across Europe.

Visitors will be able to discover EUREGHA’s work in areas including:

cancer prevention, care and implementation of the EU Mission on Cancer;
digital transformation and innovation in health systems;
cross-border healthcare and cooperation in European border regions;
mental health and regional approaches to reducing inequalities;
health workforce development and regional skills ecosystems; and
EUREGHA’s participation in European projects and policy initiatives.

The stand will also showcase the activities of EUREGHA’s thematic Working Groups, examples and experiences from its members, and its contribution as Secretariat of the Interregional Group on Health and Well-being of the European Committee of the Regions, developed in close cooperation with the CoR NAT Commission.

Visitors will additionally be able to learn more about the work of the Harnessing Talent Platform’s Working Group on Health, which brings together regions and stakeholders to address health workforce challenges and strengthen skills, innovation and talent development in European territories.

Under the 2026 theme “Strong regions, strong Europe,” EUREGHA aims to make its stand a hub for interregional health cooperation: a space to exchange ideas, identify common challenges and build new connections between regional authorities, European institutions, projects and health organisations.

EUREGHA at the IHI Forum 2026: Translating Research into Long-Term Impact

20–21 October 2026 | Brussels, Belgium

EUREGHA will take part in the IHI Forum 2026, “Translating research into long-term impact”, taking place in Brussels on 20 and 21 October.

The Forum, organised by the Innovative Health Initiative (IHI), will bring together stakeholders from across the health research and innovation landscape to explore how public-private partnerships can translate research into lasting benefits for healthcare systems, industrial competitiveness and European health policy.

Through panel discussions and workshops, the event will examine how research and innovation can remain responsive to the needs of patients, health systems, researchers, industry and public authorities in a rapidly changing context.

EUREGHA will be present with a stand, providing an opportunity to exchange with participants and highlight the perspective of regional and local health authorities. Regions are essential partners in ensuring that research and innovation can be implemented in practice, respond to territorial needs and contribute to stronger, more resilient health systems.

EUREGHA at the European Public Health Conference Bilbao

EUREGHA will contribute to the 19th European Public Health Conference, taking place in Bilbao from 10 to 13 November 2026, through a pre-conference moderation role, a cancer prevention roundtable and a poster presentation on regional mental health action.

Transforming health and care systems

On 10 November, EUREGHA will moderate Session 2 – “From Cities to Villages: Transformative Ecosystems Driving System Change” during the pre-conference “Transforming Health and Care Systems: Climate Resilience, Place-Based Innovation and Equity.”

The session will explore how cities, regions and local ecosystems can drive health and care transformation, with a focus on governance, workforce, financing, infrastructure and the scaling of innovation.

Citizen engagement for cancer prevention

EUREGHA will also contribute to the roundtable:

“Citizen Engagement for Health Equity: Evidence from the Cancer Prevention and Early Detection Cluster”

The session will bring together the experiences from ONCODIR, 4P-CAN, CPW, CO-CAPITAIN, PIECES and PREVENT to share participatory approaches to cancer prevention and early detection.

Discussions will focus on how citizen engagement can help reduce inequalities, reach underserved groups and support the adaptation and scale-up of effective interventions.

Scaling regional mental health action

EUREGHA will present the poster:

“From Practice to Policy: Scaling Regional Mental Health Action Across Europe”

The poster draws on EUREGHA’s 2025 Annual Conference and its 2026 collection of mental health practices across the network.

It will present regional examples from Wales, the Basque Country and the Gorizia cross-border area, examining common enablers and barriers related to governance, workforce capacity, cross-sector cooperation and community engagement.

The contribution will also consider how European initiatives can better support the transfer, scaling and sustainability of regional mental health approaches.

EUREGHA Annual Conference 2026 – Safe Hearts, Strong Regions: Implementing the EU Safe Hearts Plan through Regional Action – Save the Date

EUREGHA is pleased to announce that its 2026 Annual Conference, “Safe Hearts, Strong Regions: Implementing the EU Safe Hearts Plan through Regional Action”, will take place on 30 November 2026, from 13:30 to 17:30 CET, at ErreraHuis in Brussels.

The EUREGHA Annual Conference is one of the network’s main yearly events, bringing together representatives of European institutions, regional and local health authorities, healthcare organisations, European networks and other key stakeholders. The event is organised by EUREGHA with the support of the Flemish Department of Care, and will be followed by a networking reception until 19:00.

This year’s conference will focus on how the ambitions of the EU Safe Hearts Plan can translate into tangible action at regional and local level. It will explore how prevention, early detection, integrated care, digital innovation and cross-sectoral collaboration can contribute to stronger, more resilient and equitable cardiovascular health systems across Europe.

Building on EUREGHA’s work to strengthen the role of regions in European health policy, the programme will combine European policy perspectives with concrete examples from regional and local authorities. Participants will have the opportunity to discover promising approaches, discuss common challenges and explore opportunities for cooperation across Europe.
