SUMMARY:European wide Innovation Procurement in Health and Care (EURIPHI) International Roundtable
DESCRIPTION: European wide Innovation Procurement in Health and Care (EURIPHI) International Roundtable\nTuesday 10 March 20209.30 – 18.15The HotelBoulevard de Waterloo 38 – Brussels \nIt is crucial to modernise the health sector in the EU to more effectively deal with problems such as an ageing population\, chronic diseases\, co-morbidities\, antimicrobial resistance\, and various other issues. Therefore\, it is important to provide citizens with sustainable healthcare of high-quality. For this purpose\, we should foster innovation and make investment decisions based on considerations that are value-based. Value-based procurement is an unexpected driver for health and social care systems to achieve these goals. \nThe European Commission is a strong advocate for introducing instruments such as Public Procurement of Innovative solutions (PPI) and Pre-Commercial Procurement (PCP) to encourage healthcare innovation. Within this context\, the Horizon 2020 EU funded Coordinating and Supporting Action EURIPHI – European wide Innovation Procurement in Health and Care – is fostering the introduction of innovations in Europe’s health and social care systems through cross-border value-based innovation procurement. \nTo effectively respond to the unmet health and social care needs of European citizens\, it is important to observe the opportunities given by cross-border value-based innovation procurement. It is\, however\, seen that procurement across the border is a complex procedure. Yet\, research supports that particularly those opportunities are crucial when it comes to adopting innovative solutions. \n Until which point does it make sense to cooperate across borders? \nThe EURIPHI Health & Social Care Regions Network concludes that cross-border joint procurement provides Public Procurement Organisations (PPOs) with useful knowledge. \nEURIPHI – supported by project partner EUREGHA- will organize an International Roundtable and bring together health and social care representatives\, public procurers and suppliers to share experiences on cross-border procurement. It is an unique opportunity – as for regions and local authorities – in defining if there are common needs and in the use of innovative procurements to introduce solutions. \nWe are looking forward to meeting you. Please confirm your participation on the registration link below this webpage. If you have any further questions\, do not hesitate to contact info@euriphi.eu.

SUMMARY:EURIPHI Breakfast Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Fostering innovation and good health in European Regions\nAchieving health systems goals through Most Economic Advantageous Value-Based Procurement of innovative solutions\n16 October 2019 / 9.00 – 10.30The Hotel – Boulevard de Waterloo\, 38 – Brussels \nModernising the public sector in the EU is a key priority to keep the pace with today’s societal challenges. This is particularly true in the health sector\, where improving efficiency and providing high quality sustainable health care in due time is crucial to cope with an ageing population\, chronic diseases\, co-morbidities\, antimicrobial resistance\, and many other issues. \nTo address such challenges\, we should foster innovation and introduce innovative solutions\, having citizens in good health and incorporating “value” and “economic value” considerations in investment decisions in healthcare. Value-Based Procurement of innovative solutions is becoming an unexpected driver to achieve these health systems goals. \nThe European Commission supports this drive to introduce innovation by instruments such as Public Procurement of Innovative solutions (PPI) and Pre-Commercial Procurement (PCP). Co-investment is foreseen. \nThere is a unique opportunity – as for regions and local authorities – in defining if there are common needs and in the use of innovative procurements to introduce solutions. \nWithin this context the Horizon 2020 EU funded Coordinating and Supporting Action EURIPHI – European wide Innovation Procurement in Health and Care – will foster acceleration in a change in procurement practices leading to a value-based approach resulting in most economic advantageous tendering. \nThe time to transform care delivery by innovation procurement is now\, responding to the regions defined needs of health systems throughout Europe. \nEURIPHI is organizing a breakfast workshop to discuss about ongoing initiatives and opportunities amongst different regions and countries and to build out a Health Regions Network. The workshop is organized as part of the EURIPHI H2020 project and with the support of EUREGHA as project partner. \nThe aim of the Network is to foster an exchange of information and to create opportunities for cross-border cooperation of value driven innovation solution procurement. A new model of cross-border procurement will also be presented. \nThe workshop will happen in the light of the European Commission event “Cross-border Innovation Procurement in Health: EU Funding Opportunities & Best Practices” on October 17 and on the day of 16nd itself EURIPHI project Open Market Consultation on integrated care innovative solutions will take place offering the market to provide their solutions to address specific challenges health systems face to provide patients centered integrated care. \nAgenda09.00-09.20Setting the context• Carmen Laplaza Santos\, Deputy Head of Unit Health Innovations – Directorate-General for Research and Innovation\, European Commission \n09.20-09.40The EURIPHI project• Yves Verboven\, Coordinator of EURIPHI and Director of Access and Economic Policies – MedTech Europe \n09.40-10.00Fostering innovation at regional level.
