SUMMARY:European wide Innovation Procurement in Health and Care (EURIPHI) International Roundtable
DESCRIPTION: European wide Innovation Procurement in Health and Care (EURIPHI) International Roundtable\nTuesday 10 March 20209.30 – 18.15The HotelBoulevard de Waterloo 38 – Brussels \nIt is crucial to modernise the health sector in the EU to more effectively deal with problems such as an ageing population\, chronic diseases\, co-morbidities\, antimicrobial resistance\, and various other issues. Therefore\, it is important to provide citizens with sustainable healthcare of high-quality. For this purpose\, we should foster innovation and make investment decisions based on considerations that are value-based. Value-based procurement is an unexpected driver for health and social care systems to achieve these goals. \nThe European Commission is a strong advocate for introducing instruments such as Public Procurement of Innovative solutions (PPI) and Pre-Commercial Procurement (PCP) to encourage healthcare innovation. Within this context\, the Horizon 2020 EU funded Coordinating and Supporting Action EURIPHI – European wide Innovation Procurement in Health and Care – is fostering the introduction of innovations in Europe’s health and social care systems through cross-border value-based innovation procurement. \nTo effectively respond to the unmet health and social care needs of European citizens\, it is important to observe the opportunities given by cross-border value-based innovation procurement. It is\, however\, seen that procurement across the border is a complex procedure. Yet\, research supports that particularly those opportunities are crucial when it comes to adopting innovative solutions. \n Until which point does it make sense to cooperate across borders? \nThe EURIPHI Health & Social Care Regions Network concludes that cross-border joint procurement provides Public Procurement Organisations (PPOs) with useful knowledge. \nEURIPHI – supported by project partner EUREGHA- will organize an International Roundtable and bring together health and social care representatives\, public procurers and suppliers to share experiences on cross-border procurement. It is an unique opportunity – as for regions and local authorities – in defining if there are common needs and in the use of innovative procurements to introduce solutions. \nWe are looking forward to meeting you. Please confirm your participation on the registration link below this webpage. If you have any further questions\, do not hesitate to contact info@euriphi.eu.
