DESCRIPTION:EUREGHA – the reference network of European Regional and Local Health Authorities\, is pleased to invite you to the event: \nEUREGHA’s high-level annual conference\nThursday 5 December 201915.00 – 18:00EUREGHA’s officeRond Point Schuman 11Brussels  \nOn December 5\, EUREGHA will host its high-level annual conference to take a step towards an EU wide multi-stakeholder debate around ESI Funds for health. \nEven though health was not a specific priority among the 11 thematic objectives of the ESIF 2014-2020\, the European Social Fund (ESF) and the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) covered health investments in improving access to healthcare\, reducing health inequalities\, and boosting healthcare reforms for around €9 billion. \nWith more than 7\,000 health-related projects financed in the programming period 2014-2020\, cohesion policy demonstrated its crucial contribution to supporting social and economic convergence around Europe and helping to ensure the health of EU citizens. \nAs cohesion policy is one of the main European policy and investment instrument to achieve the EU treaty objective of economic\, social\, and territorial cohesion\, we believe significant resources should be allocated to investments in health prevention and promotion\, health care and health infrastructures within the Multiannual financial period 2021-2027. \nTo this extent\, it is important to foster a positive dialogue among European\, national and regional public authorities\, industry\, and civil society to ensure these investments genuinely contribute towards more equitable access to healthcare and improved wellbeing for citizens\, as well as more efficient\, resilient and sustainable health systems. \nThe aim of the conference is to showcase examples of the best regional practices\, followed by a discussion with representatives from industry\, patients’ organisations\, NGOs\, and regions on the policies and investments needed for the healthcare of tomorrow. \nConfirmed speakers include:\nNick Batey\, Chair at EUREGHA / International healthcare\, Welsh Government; \nNormunds Popens\, Deputy Director-General\, Director General for Regional and Urban Policy\, European Commission; \nSylvain Giraud\, Head of Unit\, Directorate-General for Health and Food Safety\, European Commission; \nIrina Kalderon Libal\, Policy Officer\, Directorate-General for Communications Networks\, Content and Technology\, European Commission; \nStijn Longin\, Project Manager Digital Care and Support Plan\, ICT-team Flanders Agency for Care and Health; \nTeresa Vieri\, Policy Officer\, Directorate for Citizenship rights and social cohesion\, Tuscany Region\, Executive board member EUREGHA; \nMats Ulfendahl\, Director of Research\, Region Östergötland\, Executive board member EUREGHA; \nThomas Allvin\, Executive Director\, Healthcare system\, EFPIA\, EU Health Coalition; \nBrian O’Connor\, Chair of the European Connected Health Alliance; \nMarcel Olivé Elias\,EU- Funded Projects Coordinator\, Agency for Healthcare Quality and Assessment of Catalonia (AquAS); \nAlison Maassen\, Senior Coordinator at EuroHealthNet. \n  \nFind the full agenda here
