CoR’s Interregional Group on Health and Wellbeing Summer Meeting 2026

Date & Time:

July 1 @ 9:00 am - 10:00 am

As the Secretariat of the European Committee of the Regions’ Interregional Group on Health and Well-being, EUREGHA invites you to save the date for the Summer Meeting of the Interregional Group on Health and Well-being.

Protecting health and wellbeing through environmental and climate implementation
1 July 2026, 9:00–10:00 CEST
European Committee of the Regions, Brussels – JDE70

Environmental and climate-related risks are increasingly affecting people’s health and wellbeing across Europe, from air and water pollution to heatwaves, floods, chemical exposure and pressures on health and care systems. Regions and cities are at the forefront of addressing these challenges, translating environmental and climate policies into concrete prevention, resilience and public health measures.

Chaired by Birgitta Sacrédeus, Member of the European Committee of the Regions and Chair of the Interregional Group on Health and Well-being, the meeting will explore the links between environmental action, climate resilience and health outcomes, with a focus on the territorial dimension and the role of regions in protecting citizens’ wellbeing.

The discussion will also connect to the forthcoming Committee of the Regions opinion on the Environmental Implementation Review, bringing forward regional health perspectives on how stronger environmental implementation can improve public health outcomes, support prevention, reduce inequalities and strengthen resilient communities.

The agenda will include contributions from Stefania Proietti, President of Umbria Region and CoR Rapporteur for the Environmental Implementation Review, a representative from Department Zorg / Flanders, and Charlotte Marchandise, Executive Director of the European Public Health Association, followed by an open debate and Q&A.

Looking forward to welcoming you to the Committee of the Regions.

Please note: Given the limited number of seats, priority will be given to the presence of CoR members, and any remaining available spots will be allocated by the Secretariat on a first-come, first-served basis.
