DESCRIPTION:EUREGHA – the reference network of European Regional and Local Health Authorities – is pleased to invite you to the meeting organised by the Committee of the Regions’ Interregional Group on Health and Well-being: \n“Discussing the proposal on establishing a European Health Data Space”\nThursday\, 16 March 2023 (13:30 – 14:30 CET)\nEuropean Committee of the Regions\, Brussels (Room JDE 53)\nAs a pillar of the European Health Union project\, the European Health Data Space\, officially proposed by the European Commission in May 2022\, can represent a game changer for the health and well-being of people across Europe. In this context\, regional and local authorities are key contributors to putting in place the new EU infrastructure\, as they are those responsible for the organisation of health and social care services in most Members States\, as well as promoters of research\, and in building people’s trust in this new framework\, as the interface between citizens and national and European dimension. \nIn light of ongoing negotiations within the Council and European Parliament\, this (in-person) meeting aims to deepen the CoR’s perspective on the establishment of the EHDS and further discuss the role and capacities of regions in implementing this new ambitious framework\, so that the objectives set can be achieved and potential challenges addressed properly. \nPlease\, click on the button below to look at the agenda. \nSpeakers include:\n\nAnna Prokůpková\, Advisor on Health and Environment Policy at the European Parliament (GREENS/EFA)\nSirle Mere\, Member of the Secretariat-General of the European Committee of the Regions\, NAT— Commission for Natural Resources\n\nPLEASE NOTE: Given the limited access to physical participation\, priority will be given to the presence of CoR members\, and eventual available seats will be allocated by the Secretariat on a first come first served basis.
