EUREGHA at the 2nd General Assembly of the European Youth Cancer Network (YARN)

On the 12-13th of December, EUREGHA took part in the 2nd General Assembly of the European Youth Cancer Network (YARN), held in Bucharest. The meeting brought together project partners from across Europe to review progress, exchange experiences and collectively shape the next phase of the project.

YARN is an EU-funded initiative that aims to improve outcomes for adolescents and young adults (AYA) affected by cancer, by strengthening youth engagement, amplifying lived experience, and supporting more responsive policies and practices across Europe. EUREGHA is pleased to contribute to the project and to collaborate with partners committed to ensuring that young people’s voices are meaningfully embedded in cancer-related initiatives.

Key highlights from the meeting

The General Assembly provided a valuable opportunity to:

  • Engage in in-depth exchanges with project partners, reinforcing collaboration across work packages

  • Review progress achieved so far, including activities under Dissemination and Communication, where EUREGHA plays a key role

  • Contribute to strategic discussions shaping the next implementation phase of the project

  • Gain a clearer overview of the growing momentum and visibility that YARN is building at European level

Discussions reaffirmed the importance of co-creation and sustained youth participation as central pillars of the project’s approach.

Looking ahead

Several upcoming milestones were highlighted during the meeting, including:

  • The launch of the ACE Academy in Brussels, hosted at an EU institution in early 2026

  • The development of a podcast series co-created with young people, aimed at sharing lived experiences and raising awareness

  • Additional opportunities to further strengthen meaningful youth engagement across YARN activities

By placing young people with cancer experience at the centre of system-level discussions, YARN continues to contribute to more inclusive, responsive and people-centred approaches to cancer policy and care.
