2024 was a year of strategic consolidation and forward momentum for EUREGHA. In a Europe navigating complex health challenges and transformative policy shifts, our network continued to grow, diversify, and strengthen its voice in the European health policy debate—always guided by our shared ambition: to promote healthier regions and communities across Europe.
Throughout the year, EUREGHA has focused its energies on amplifying the perspectives of regional and local health authorities, engaging actively with EU institutions, and fostering collaboration across borders. From contributing to critical debates on mental health, antimicrobial resistance, and medicine shortages, to shaping the conversation on value-based care, digital transformation, and cancer, EUREGHA has positioned itself as a trusted partner in the evolving European Health Union landscape.
2024 was also a year of growth for the network. We were proud to welcome Aarhus Kommune (Denmark) and Buskerud Fylkeskommune (Norway) as full members, and IMAGO-MOL Cluster (Romania) and Vaasa University of Applied Sciences (Finland) as associate members—each bringing unique expertise and enriching the diversity of our community.
The publication of the first EUREGHA Regional Factsheet was a milestone in our efforts to showcase the diversity and strengths of our members’ health systems, priorities, and best practices. This evolving resource is a testament to EUREGHA’s role as a connector and facilitator of knowledge exchange.
The European Week of Regions and Cities saw EUREGHA co-hosting a session on attracting and retaining healthcare talent in regional contexts, reinforcing our commitment to tackling workforce challenges. Our annual High-level Conference and active involvement in projects such as BeWell, ONCODIR, InnoMedCatalyst, and CultureAndHealth further showcased our dedication to fostering innovation, sustainability, and inclusivity in health and care.
This Activity Report 2024 provides an overview of the network’s achievements, activities, and collaborations over the past year, offering insights into EUREGHA’s advocacy work, engagement in EU-funded projects, and partnerships within the European health policy landscape. It reflects the collective efforts of our members, partners, and Secretariat to shape a healthier, more resilient Europe.
